My name is Carlos A. Heuser. I live in Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil.
For over 40 years, I worked in the Computing area at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, where I retired from the position of Full Professor at the Instituto de Informática. My production as a Computer Science professional can be seen in my academic curriculum.
On this site I keep the results of my genealogical research, which I have been doing since the 1990s. This site has been in existence since 2004, having undergone several revisions.
In addition to this genealogy site, in my domain heuser.pro.br, I maintain the following sites (in Portuguese as they are of interest mainly to Brazilian readers):
This site is a collection of historical maps of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. The maps cover regions colonized by immigrants in the 19th century, hence the name of the site. The maps are displayed on a Google Map, which allows you to compare the old map with the current one.
This page contains a historical atlas of Germany’s history as well as tips for finding German places in Central Europe. The site is aimed at genealogists with roots in Germany.
- projbd.heuser.pro.br and bdrel.heuser.pro.br
These sites contain descriptions of two books I have authored: “Projeto de Banco de Dados” and “Banco de Dados Relacional”. They are textbooks used in teaching databases to undergraduate students.
In addition to being a computer professional and genealogist, I am also a passionate photographer. This site contains a small portfolio of my production.
To contact me you can use the contact form on the genealogy website.
